1)THE FERAL PIGEON
The feral pigeon is a part of the Columbidae bird family consisting of pigeons and doves.They are small,short-necked birds with and short bills and are from 10 to 70 centimeters long and weigh up to 30-50 grams they are found almost all around the world. There are almost 50,000 pigeons in Bangalore alone.Pigeons feed on plants, seeds and fruits.
2)THE HOUSE CROW
The house crow or the Corvus splendens is a very common bird in Bangalore. There are almost 20,000 of these in the city they are 45 to 70 centimeters in size and can weigh up to 80 grams.They are mostly black,brown or grey in colour and can eat small insects, snakes, rats, nuts, fruits and many other things.
3)THE BLACK KITE
The black kite or the Milvus migrans is a big bird of prey .They are very common in Bangalore but are normally mistakes as eagles. They have huge wingspans which can be as big as 160 centimeters.They normally feed on snakes, rats, cat, insects and other smaller birds. Almost 10,000 of these are found in Bangalore city alone.
4)THE COMMON MYNA
the common or the Indian myna is also known as the Acridotheres tristis. They are small birds with 5 to 30 cm long and can weigh up to 50 grams. As they have well adapted to cities more than 5,000 of these are found in Bangalore .They eat small insects, nuts and fruits and make a sweet chirping sound
5)THE ROSE-RINGED PARAKEET
The rose-ringed parakeet or the Psittacula krameri is a decent sized parrot found in Bangalore , there are almost 4,000 of these birds in the city.They have a wingspan of about 20-40 centimeters and can weigh up to 60 grams they eat small insects, nuts, seeds and fruits.
